happy festivus

The end of the year is nearly upon us and it's time for those who see their families to do so and those who don't to take up their urban families and embrace them.

I get to do abbreviated family this year which is actually really nice and get to meet my big nephew's gf tonight at dinner which will be sweet.  Just spent the afternoon with my ma finishing off preparations for tomorrow's luncheon.

Now it's time to get out the sticky tape and play present origami before it's getting ready for dinner time.  We are doing the big hotel smorgasboard, so no room for nibbles beforehand as there is a table full of sashimi with my name on it!

If I don't see you until the new year

Have a happy festive time, however it works for you and best wishes for a most wonderful new year that starts with amazing fireworks and continues as you mean to go on with joy and success in all things.

Love and light,

Felix xx

So I've been back in Sydney for almost two weeks and haven't updated - oops ;)

The Bay area was great - I really enjoyed my first Thanksgiving! I've decided it's an awesome holiday because it's all about the snacks and not about buying people stuff they don't need... I helped make the tofurkey - well - I made the baste anyway... the tofurkey itself came in a box from WholeFoods. It was totally carb-fest 2009 with the addition of mashed potato, roast veggies, rolls, stuffing (which comes separately in a box by itself), and biscuits - which I love... nomnomnom

The the desserts! Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie and Pecan Pie - but the winner was one that I made... Pavlova!

No one had ever had pav before - and it was nommed up very fast...

apart from Thanksgiving I mostly just relaxed with my friends and had a holiday... did some (vanilla) shopping which is funny because I won't really get to wear all the cool stuff I bought for a few months, saw a movie, ate at my fav. restaurant Millenium and had brunch at Herbivore, I even went to a play party which was really fun.

so for everyone who's been wondering - that was my pre-holidays holiday... I'm staying in Sydney over the xmas/ new year period and will be available for sessions. Well - apart from the 25th and 26th when I have family obligations...

Sitting at the airport waiting for my flight back to Sydney. Arrived super early for some reason.

Hoyne christmas party was a very long day, but I managed to get lots of water in me during the day long drinking, and didn't make a fool of myself or do anything bad. Bowling, karoake, river cruise, snobby Melbourne bar full of odd beer, grungy little club. Got to bed in my lovely hotel just after 1am. It had shower of good. Unfortunately the clock in the hotel was wrong, and my mobile was flat so I had no idea what time it was. Stressing about this meant I woke up way to early.

Very tired. Want my bed and my kitties and my boy.

Yay I'm on holidays!

Having no mobile is a nightmare! It's really driving me nuts. I've tried to call Huon twice on a payphone but he wont answer. I have a feeling I'll be catching a cab home from the airport.

Did I mention I want my bed?

Spur of the moment drunkening at the local irish pub last night. Big frosty pints of happiness. Stayed for some food and I decided we were all going to play trivia. We're an erratic bunch of clever people. Somethings we'd get everything, others, we'd have no clue at all. We all fail at geography.

Still I won a $5 drink voucher for guessing the weight of a fish, and then in the lucky prize draw, we won another $50 worth of vouchers.

Yay us!

They have to be used in the next week. Might just have to pop in for a drink or too and use them up.

But not today. Too hungover.
